The bactericidal reaction of ozone on bacteria is always very rapid. Unlike other disinfectants, ozone can undergo double-bond reactions with the lipids in bacterial cell walls, penetrating the interior of the bacterial cell, acting on proteins and lipopolysaccharides, altering cell permeability, causing bacterial death, and ensuring worry-free disinfection.
